Since many years, Railway surveying has always been of great importance in the maintenance and construction of our railways but recent increase in traffic and the resulting pressure to expand capacity has significantly raised the requirement of quick and accurate Railway surveys.

With the use of Modern survey instruments, though still requiring some field-work, Railways have benefitted from these new technologies. Along with existing Mobile LiDAR for creating large-scale topographic maps in FSR/DPR/FLS projects, precise Track Geometry Measuring instruments, precision cameras, air photographs, electronic distant measurers, first-order plotting instruments and computers together with mechanized trail clearing, have all contributed to the accuracy and ease of the Railway surveying process.

"Prashant Surveys" have their own 3D Mobile LiDAR instruments "Leica Pegasus One" and "Leica Pegasus Two" for carrying out the Feasibility Survey Report, Detailed Project Report, Final Location Survey (FSR/DPR/FLS) and Land Plan Survey projects required for Railway sector upto the accuracy of +/- 2 cm. We have also tied up with Swiss companies for carrying out the accurate Railway Track Geometry Surveys upto the precision of about +/- 1 mm, the data of which can be directly fed to the Plasser or other ballast Tamping machines. For inaccessible areas and patches with wide corridors, we use the UAV/Drone technology with precision upto +/- 5 cm for assisting in the above technologies.
